Distagon Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1861 Posted January 17, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) In spring, there will be another Leica EVF full frame camera announced with a L mount. No, please, I can't cope with another rumour! Come on! We've only got a few more hours to get to 100 pages, and this is just the fuel we need! Advertisement Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Hi Distagon, Take a look here Leica M 10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Paul J Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1862 Posted January 17, 2017 If the M has the same old sensor as the SL or Q then it will be a major disappointment as far as I'm concerned and I am certainly weighing up the option of moving on altogether. Personally, if I had a need for the SL's sensor I would have bough the SL but I have very little interest in it and I will not wait another 4 years for something in case it might potentially happen in the future. Distagon Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1863 Posted January 17, 2017 In spring, there will be another Leica EVF full frame camera announced with a L mount. So a hybrid viewfinder nowhere in the roadmap? That's a shame.

The SL sensor is at the same level than many cameras from 2011/2012 it's enough for me but there is nothing to be proud for Leica

For me the benefit will be the SL sensor (which I really liked) in an M form factor body. I liked the IQ from the SL, but hated the size, weight and handling. All individual I fully understand, but my feeling is that the M10 is shaping to be what I had hoped the M-240 would have been...
cirke Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1866 Posted January 17, 2017 the M10 if I understand well has no multi-shots possibility ? with the M240 I use nearly always this option

cirke Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1868 Posted January 17, 2017 I REALLY start to wonder if in other brands' forums (there are, I think...) discussions in proximity of product announcements have the same mix of intensity/fantasy/hope... or if we are REALLY a unique breed of people... Gold fever :-)
AKW Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1869 Posted January 17, 2017 if there is a need for TL adapter why a second body ? the SL is a very good camera but not for me there is a real need for 2 M lines , the M10 and another one more modern If there is going to be a new more modern FF-camera without rangefinder, it should use L-mount and have AF. That way it is useable with all Leica lenses and would be a very good companion with rangefinder M.
keithlaban.co.uk Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1870 Posted January 17, 2017 I have to admit: I was wrong. The M10 indeed does feature the SL's sensor. It is a classical M rangefinder, really beautiful. While it is slimmer, the lens mount has to compensate for it. Basically Leicarumors got it right. It is going to be anounced this week. In spring, there will be another Leica EVF full frame camera announced with a L mount. Fingers crossed.

It won't take another 4 years. Leica is going to update the S line and the M line (Probably 50mp S and 30mp M) in 2018.
cirke Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1874 Posted January 17, 2017 A small mirrorless S X1D-like with smaller lenses would be very attractive, but with bazooka lenses they can keep it, not for me

Either that or for some reason we simply have the goal of creating 100 pages of 'posts of conjecture' before the actual announcement of the M10 (or whatever) . anickpick Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1877 Posted January 17, 2017 24 to 30? rather marginal and photographically near-irrelevant. I agree. However, Leica seems to believe that more megapixels do not make a lot of sense for the M.

The goal is both, 100 pages and 2000 posts. Despite all efforts, it seems we're loosing.
Paul J Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1879 Posted January 17, 2017 It won't take another 4 years. Leica is going to update the S line and the M line (Probably 50mp S and 30mp M) in 2018. I think your guessing is a bit off. The S, even by Leica's standards and own words, should be double the resolution 70-80MP to make a difference. That I may be interested but I'm at that point now where even one year wait is too long when you can jump in on a proven system and shoot 100MP today. It would also most likely be a 2 year wait to get take delivery and then there are the rest of the issues with it which put it in the too hard, too expensive and no thanks basket, until proven otherwise. 30MP M is not an upgrade in resolution worth talking about. I have no interest in waiting one more year for another 8MP.
jaapv Posted January 17, 2017 Share #1880 Posted January 17, 2017 I agree. However, Leica seems to believe that more megapixels do not make a lot of sense for the M. Yes, and I tend to agree with them.
