Couple Questions on new M-D 262

I just got a new M-D 262. How do you check firmware version? I'm guessing you can't. Mine was manufactured in May 2016 ( I'm guessing that at this point all of them were from the same batch, but I don't know). I tried to install the new firmware and the "up" message went out after maybe 4 seconds. I'm guessing that I'm on the latest version already or this update had so little to it that it only took 4 seconds? The camera does shut down after several minutes, so I guess I answered my own question.

Also mine behaves very strangely on ISO 800 (only 800); When on Auto (aperture preferred) the display will flicker and the shutter speed shown will be way too high. On manual it will show the left arrow indicating to stop down by like 6 stops. The photos I took on "Auto" were exposed correctly despite what the display was indicating. If I set the ISO one click (1/3 stop) either side of 800, everything behaves normally. My initial thought was that the contacts in the ISO control were dirty, but the fact that the exposure was good tell me that is likely not the case.

Any thoughts on this. I am not happy about the prospect of sending it in for this issue and will probably just avoid using ISO 800

An M-D typ 262 firmware update to v1.0.0.4 was made available on 13 JUNE 2016. It implements the timed power off of the camera regardless of main switch position, as requested by users. It is available from: https://us.leica-camera.com/Service-Support/Support/Downloads?category=93710&subcategory=131376&type=&language=93871

You can determine what version firmware is installed in your M-D typ 262 by examining a .DNG raw file with Lightroom or EXIFtool. With Lightroom, select a .DNG file in the Library and open the Metadata panel. Set the panel to view the EXIF data. Near the bottom of the listing, you'll see an entry named Software ... next to that is the M-D firmware version. With EXIFtool, using the command line, enter:

$exiftool -Software <filename>.dng

If the firmware is up to date, this command will output :

Software                        :         1.0.0.4

I've not seen that fault at ISO 800 on mine. You might try taking the battery out for a couple of days, letting the capacitor drain down, and then reinserting the battery to reinitialize the camera. Otherwise, it sounds like it needs to be serviced.
