dancook Posted November 8, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interested in doing some video with the Leica Q, lifestyle type stuff - thought I might pick up a gimbal inspired by this video @ 3min 17 - he uses the Feiyu FY-MG Lite with the Leica Q Has anyone got experience with this, also need to consider if I need an external microphone for it too - I suspect it would be the best option for quality. Advertisement Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Hi dancook, Take a look here Video Accessories - Gimbal, Microphone. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sbeckhardt Posted November 8, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2016 The Q doesn't have a microphone input, afaik. You'd need an external recorder.

dancook Posted November 8, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted November 8, 2016 I found a useful video for what I'm after, with regards to microphone he just adds a DIY muffle
adamdewilde Posted November 14, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 14, 2016 Last time I had the Q, the video was auto mode only. They didn't allow for manual settings.. Has this changed? AFAIK I had the latest firmware available (I only sold the Q a little while back). Maybe my memory is failing with to many cameras.. Wouldn't this be a deal breaker for most? I gave the Q a test run, aperture setting was ignored and automated.

Yeah, it wasn't manual when I had it either. I just wasn't sure if I missed some minor update. Or if my memory was failing me.

matlep Posted November 19, 2016 Share #9 Posted November 19, 2016 @Dancook, did you get the gimbal? Or did you find a different model?
dancook Posted November 19, 2016 Author Share #10 Posted November 19, 2016 Didn't get one, decided I would try using it as it is to see if I actually use it. The internal stabilisation helps I believe.
martenw Posted December 22, 2016 Share #11 Posted December 22, 2016 Has anyone heard if Leica will implement full manual control in Video?
