Not as good as the Elmars that succeeded it, but not bad at all for general use, even by modern standards. A superb Infrared lens, and it is quite good used on a Monochrom.

All this presuming that you get a pristine example. As it is an older lens with limited contrast compared to for instance the Tele-Elmar, any haze or cleaning marks will easily impair image quality to the point of being unacceptable.

Thank you very much! I have a M3 and I'm trying to use it properly for portraits.

My Hektor is in excellent shape. As you said, not much contrast but with some character.
