thedirektor Posted October 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a new 262 and a 50mm Summarit 2.4 lens Normally when I hit the info screen the lens is recognized a 2.4// 50. However something after switching on the info screen shows as unregistered. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution to this problem ? What I do now is just pop the battery or uncouple and recouple the lens. But it's a hassle. Any help would be much appreciated. It's my first Leica and I'm new to the M . Thanks. rpittal Posted October 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2016 Hello director: make sure the lens is attached fully (clicked in place) and that the sensors on the camera are clean (no lubricant, for example). Also wipe off the 6 bit paint spots on the lens to make sure they are clean too. Regards,Bob
thedirektor Posted October 12, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted October 12, 2016 Thanks Bob. I'll double check and do all that. However it's a week old camera and lens so I'd be surprised if the contacts had become dirty. But I'm a great believer in belt and braces. So thanks. And please if anyone has this same problem I'd love to hear from them. The Leica family is very supportive judging by these fora.

pop Posted October 13, 2016 Share #6 Posted October 13, 2016 Take the lens off the camera. Look at the side of the lens which faced the camera. The white and black specks become readily apparent.
