Advertisement Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Hi fotohuis, Take a look here Paris, quartier Montparnasse . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Louis Posted October 9, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2016 A beautiful B/W night shot! Le Dome used to be a quite nice restaurant; but as I left Paris some years ago, I don't know how it is now. But I always preferred La Coupole that is about a block away!
fotohuis Posted October 10, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted October 10, 2016 There are so many restaurants in this district. We have far family living in Montparnasse hence our visit this year. The atmosphere is very good in Paris however sometimes you can see the impact of the terroristic attacks. In the Netherlands we are not on this level (of security) yet ..... fotohuis Posted October 10, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted October 10, 2016 Great feeling of being there in this photograph I have tried to bring over the atmosphere in Paris by night. The materials you used for the presentation makes for interesting reading too! Bergger used OrWo Filmotec N74+ (cine) emulsion in this type Bergger cassette which is Ilford/Pemberstone made. Pyrocat-HDC is an open source receipt of Sandy King. It is a very nice Pyro type developer dissolved in Glycol which is very stable over the 2 years. Like all Pyro type developers you have to stop in a weak stop bath (1,5%) and fix in an Alkaline or Neutral type fixer to keep the stain (=colorizing of the negative) from the film. This developer can be used in rotary and inverse development. The stain suppresses the grain and prevent a blown out of the high lights. Further it gives sharpness combined with almost box speed. The disadvantage is that Pyro developers are pretty poisoning and that the stain of each type of film will be different. Pyrocat-HDC is doing well on OrWo films, UN54 or this N74+ and even the older OrWo emulsions in the former DDR like NP22, NP15.
