M 262 Hand Grip

A couple of days ago I bought a new Leica M 262 in the euphoria of the moment I forgot to buy a hand grip. I use grips on my X and X Vario and find them useful. Checking around on line I note that many dealers list them but they are listed as type 240.

 

Can anyone confirm that the standard grip will fit an M type 262? I know the multifunction one does not.

 

Even the Leica web site and Instructions are not too clear on this.

I bought one but in this case – and unlike the Q – didn't find it all that beneficial. But maybe I was just used to the feel of M6TTL/MP/M8/M9M240/ME sans grip! Much to my surprise someone bought it after only a week at a London dealer's. So try before you buy, if that is possible.

+2. The "grip" is actually somewhat uncomfortable for me. The grip should extend up to the top of the top plate, not stop at the bottom of it. That gap to me turned a nice feeling camera into an uncomfortable one. Even with my largest M lens, the Cosina/Voigtlander 21mm f1.8, the more comfortable grip for me is with no accessory grip.
