ananda Posted September 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I reckon I'd love to see Leica offer at Q with interchangeable lenses. Upgraded sensor. EVF, etc.
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Hi ananda, Take a look here Q nor M or Blend. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Exodies Posted September 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2016 Or perhaps an M with fixed 28mm lens. What is this chimera madness?
kkonkkrete Posted September 22, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2016 I'm always slightly impressed by these people demanding more and more from cameras. On the one hand, it's great: the manufacturers respond and give us ever more technically outstanding machines for executing our art.. But seriously, how often is the camera the limit on what you are trying to do? Better sensor than the one in the Q? Really? What do you need it for? I'm blown away by the quality I get out an M-D and 35mm summilux and I don't think its sensor is as good as the one in the Q. Now, a genuine 6x6 medium format camera the same size as the Q, that would be something that would push me to do things that I can't already do (but probably physically impossible to realise). But within the 35mm full frame world a Q is frankly incredibly capable (unless you want to do lots of tele work, in which case get an DSLR or SL, oh and a tripod). kentishrev Posted September 22, 2016 Share #4 Posted September 22, 2016 I reckon I'd love to see Leica offer at Q with interchangeable lenses. Upgraded sensor. EVF, etc. That would be the next M then.
Robert M Poole Posted September 22, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2016 Am I the only one who wants a simple camera that takes great pictures? I don't want video, I don't want toy camera modes, I don't want sweep panorama, I don't even want autofocus. I bought an m9 for this reason rather than upgrading to a Fuji X100T, they just started getting too complicated and packing too many features in. Joakim Posted September 22, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2016 That would be the next M then. No it would be a smaller SL, the M will reamin a rangefinder (I hope or Leica loses its soul ). I wouldn't mine owning both a traditional M and an EVF based Leica with M-mount about the same sise as the M but I think Leica is spread quite thin right now with all different types of cameras they haveso yet another one would probably not be a smart move right now. I had the Q and traded (for a part deposit) for the 240 MP plus a 35mm Summilux. The Q is a great camera and served me well but once you've tasted Leica, you need to go for the M. In addition, I have a number of excellent Fuji lenses and replaced my X Pro 1 for an X Pro 2. The latter resolved many issues I had with the X Pro 1. The X Pro 2 made the Q somewhat redundant in my bag. So, I went for the 240. Simply, it's a totally different form of photography. Less is more in the world of Leica. An all singing, all dancing, Q-M will be self-defeating.

The only things I miss are the close focus on my Fuji x100 and the great high iso performance. I like my Fuji xe1 (still kind of wish I'd got the xpro1 though...) For using legacy lenses on. Though since getting my m9 I've hardly picked up either. www.robertpoolephotography.com

sblitz Posted October 2, 2016 Share #11 Posted October 2, 2016 spent a week with the M240 and my Q, I thought the Q delivered much better files ..... only reason I didn't stay with the Q was I needed other focal lengths. If I had the funds, I would get a SL or perhaps just wait for a Q50 or some such camera ......
earleygallery Posted October 2, 2016 Share #12 Posted October 2, 2016 I reckon I'd love to see Leica offer at Q with interchangeable lenses. Upgraded sensor. EVF, etc. But this already exists! Buy an M and the EVF, or an SL and M adaptor. What's stopping you?
pop Posted October 2, 2016 Share #13 Posted October 2, 2016 But this already exists! Buy an M and the EVF, or an SL and M adaptor. What's stopping you? Look into the EVF of a Q. Then look into the EVF of an M. There's room for improvement, even if the EVF is an auxiliary only for the M.
earleygallery Posted October 2, 2016 Share #14 Posted October 2, 2016 I don't like EVF's but the camera the OP wishes for already exists! It's like the 'what do you want in the next M' threads that pop up the day after a new one is released!
