Monochrome with M9

I have been reading here how nice M8 cameras do monochrome.   Will the M9 produce equally nice monochrome?

My M6 and some Nikon F2`s have been unretired  and I an shooting some b&w film.

I really like the monochrome files from my m9. The SOOC Jpgs are nice but I mostly use Lightroom to convert the RAW. They tend not to need much editing. I usually darken the blacks, lift the shadows and cut the highlights and increase the contrast.

You can see some on my Flickr www.flickr.com/rmpoole

I like the M9 B&W jpg files a lot, they need a tiny bit of adjustment regarding sharpening if you must, but they have pleasing look right out of Camera. I preferred them to my M8, however work on raw the M8 files have a tiny bit more bite and do have something that the M9 doesn't. M8 files seem to take more contrast and have a texture that's different.

In short I think B&W from the M9 is wonderful with a look that is the M9, different to the MM and M8

I am just getting back to monochrome after 10 years of DIGITAL color which I thought was cool after struggling with it in darkroom.  Chemicals and paper getting hard to find.   My quality was wonderful with V35 and Nova slot processor.

Anyway my son is getting into film and I am reopening my darkroom for his use and mine also.    I have one M6 left, he got the other two years ago.   I think it has 20 rolls thru it which I bought new early 80`s.  .

I managed to find two Nikon F2 in very nice condition and I can use the manual focus lenses from my digital Nikons.     Amazing cameras that I can focus quickly with confidence.

I remember when DP-12 (AS) prism heads for the F2's alone were $500-$600, used. F2AS's, like all other film bodies, have gotten affordable. I wish Hasselblad prices 15-20 years ago were what they are today. That's one camera I never tried and always wanted to.
