I have a Safrotto case for the 90-280 and it fits as if specifically made for the lens..... I use it with a shoulder strap instead of having the lens in a bag. The 120/130mm ext diameter ones are suitable for the SL lenses.

They make a range of smaller sizes and one should be fine for the 24-90 ...... they are cheap and surprisingly well made ..... tried lots of other makes but found these the most suitable ..... others are very bulky and often poorly designed.

The Leica SL Vario-Elmar 24-90mm comes with front & rear lens caps and a hood, but no case.

Leica Store NYC says Leica offers no case for this lens, they recommended getting a 3rd-party case.

Any recommendations?

I use a Think Tank Lens Changer 25 v2.0. It is well-padded and can attach to a belt (either a pants belt or Think Tank Belt) It doesn't take up much space either. Mine is the last version, which I like better. You can pick them up on eBay all day long fairly inexpensively
