Robert M Poole Posted September 5, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Where I stayed this summer had a lot of cyclists so I took the opportunity to learn to pan. Here is one which turned out quite well I think. Look, no hands by Robert Michael Poole, on Flickr M9 50mm Summarit.

It is a lovely lens. www.robertpoolephotography.com

Robert M Poole Posted October 27, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted October 27, 2016 Dont change it for a summicron, at F1.5 is where the magic and glow is.My Summarit is f2.5 though, a 1.4 Lux might be stretching my budget a bit www.robertpoolephotography.com

Robert M Poole Posted October 27, 2016 Author Share #11 Posted October 27, 2016 What is your calculation to come up with half a stop? 2-1.5=0.5 stop? 2.8-2=0.8 stop? I'm not the technical type so please correct me but I figured it out like this: My current lens is f2.5 (Summarit 50mm f2.5) I would like The Summacron (50mm f2) is f2 The difference in between 2.5 and 2 is 0.5 I presumed this was half a stop? I just put it in a calculator on here http://www.scantips.com/lights/fstop.html and see that it is 0.67 EV Like I say, I'm not technical so please correct my thinking if I'm completely misunderstnding how to work it out Rob www.robertpoolephotography.com
XVarior Posted October 27, 2016 Share #12 Posted October 27, 2016 Indeed Robert. This is a beautiful technique that one should never miss the opportunity to practice it out whenever it is possible. Well done.
NB23 Posted October 27, 2016 Share #13 Posted October 27, 2016 I thought you had the 1.5 summarit that's why! I used to own a mint copy, if was magical.

I didn't realise the old summarit was a 1.5, I've just been looking it looks like a nice little lens and can be picked up quite cheap...
