T lens crop factor

When a T lens mounted on a SL, there are a crop factor of approximately 1.5. i.e. a

35 mm T lens corresponds to about 50 mm.

Is it also the case when the same lens is used on a T camera.

Short answer is yes.

 

The sensor in the T is APS-C which is smaller than a FF sensor. The 'crop' factor is 1.5, so a 35mm lens gives the equivalent field of view of a 52.5mm lens on full frame.

 

If you put the 35mm T lens on the SL it won't cover the whole FF sensor so the camera automatically switches to 'crop sensor' mode.
