Sony A9

Leica systems haven't ever been "widely adopted", at least not since 1960... If you want a mass system, you need to get a mass camera. Actually, since the M240 and the advent of adapters to mount on different mounts, camera systems are more universal than ever.

That doesn't mean that Leica doesn't want to increase market penetration. Nor does it mean that being more widely adopted would be better for us.

Fuji cameras have been in the same boat since the 80's and look at them. Sony may as well have not made cameras at all until the acquisition of Minolta and later the release of the A7. Leica has been steadily growing its user base since the release of the M9. The past is not an indicator of the future and it is not an indicator of where Leica would like to see itself in the future.

I am confident that Leica would love to be more widely adopted. I think the SL shows that. I'm not so certain that they know how to handle it if it actually came to fruition.

I also wouldn't give the widespread *universal camera system* award to the M240. Again it was the Sony cameras that really made something that was available for 50 years, a normal and accepted part of buying into a system.

Again, you are putting words in my mouth that I never said, and your Sony experience mirrors mine, which I also mentioned above, so it is beyond me why you say I would have"disregarded your years of owning and using Sony equipment"...

That being said, if you want to continue to feel strongly about that please go ahead...

I've quoted you exactly, using copy-paste. How can you say I put words in your mouth?

I have much more experience using Sony stuff than just the A7 too. Do you?
