echorec Posted June 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2007 The price is a bargain if the M3 is a genuine black.
dkCambridgeshire Posted June 11, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 11, 2007 AFAIK no black M3's were made in 1963 ... but 2150 black were made in 1962 ...and might have been issued in 1963 ... and a few hundred more in 1964-66 . There are quite a few repainted M3's available .. and they are still being repainted by specialist repairers. What is the actual serial number? digibob Posted June 12, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted June 12, 2007 Dunk- my mistake regarding colour ,it has chrome top - vulcanite body.s/n 1072551. thanks for info so far.rf
luigi bertolotti Posted June 12, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 12, 2007 Clarified that it's NOT a black one, well, the price is not cheap... but if the conditions both of body AND lens (with goggles) are really very good, it's a fine outfit, undoubtly. Could be better to see hands-on the Summicron DR... it has specific mechanics for dual-ranging and goggles mount/dismount... all has to work well. If clean, is a fantastic lens : some people say the Cron 50 DR glasses were more "graded - selected" than the glasses for the Cron 50 standard : I have both the version and don't seem to notice differences : both excellent
