Hiking/mountain climbing bag for Leica

I'm about to do a lot of mountain climbing and I'm looking for a carrying bag for my Leica M-A and some rolls of film.

 

Any suggestion for waterproof and rugged enough for hiking/climbing?

I just stick my camera and lenses inside a padded insert (out of a Billingham bag actually but there are loads out there) in the rucksack that I normally use. I also carry several 'dry bags' to shove everything in if it rains. Padding and waterproofing is all you need to worry about.

Thanks, I do have the dry bags all ready to use. I was thinking the same thing, but wanted to see what others are using, may see something I like. It's not like I won't be using it.

A camera inside the backpack is going to stay there ; one attached to the hip belt is going to get used.

 

In good weather I use a Newswear pouch on the hip belt ( and a carabiner around a D loop - so it can not slip off ). http://www.newswear.com/smallpdetail.htm

I had one of the above mentioned Sealine packs and the waist strap came unglued after not a lot of use. I now have an Aquapac roll top bag but doubt if it would fit a Leica. I don't take my Leicas on serious multi day hikes anymore though after drowning an M6ttl on a failed river crossing in New Zealand some years ago. These days it's just a small M4/3 like a GM5.

Buy a "disposable" Leica D-Lux and keep it in your pocket.  Not a big deal if it gets dropped.
