Michael Hiles Posted August 7, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) This man was playing in the Temple Of Heaven in Beijing. He was playing a classic Chinese stringed instrument, which sounded unattractive to my western ears. I suspect it was a very modest glimpse of old China. Maybe he doesn't much appreciate Bach. Guest Her Berger Posted August 7, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2016 Its an Erhu, a chinese kind of a violine. There are only two strings and the bow is between the strings and the neck.It gives a very special tone. I like it. Maybe you get the chance to listen to a pipa or a Guzheng. Its very special for 'western ears', maybe compared with butho dance. btw, its a nice photo.
