I set q DNG + jpg when wireless import to iPad I can find my DNG file?

When I use M if there is a DNG file it shows a blank picture so I will choose fotoraw to decoded, on the q seems my photoraw never have chance to use.

Also I use C mode when I review it shows " play" sign, I didn't use video , is the play sign meaning one JPEG file and another is DNG file?

Help appreciated

When you use C mode all of the images taken as a single series are part of a group.  Only the last image of the group is shown when reviewing the images.  The "play" sign indicates that you play to see the remaining images in the group.  This can be adjusted using the Group Display Mode setting.  If it is set to Off you will see every image instead on one image with a Play symbol.

I believe Q Wireless support is jpeg only.

Yep - the Q only outputs JPEGs to iOS, but furthermore I do believe iOS does not currently support RAW editing.

iPad doesn't support raw, files too heavy. Maybe using a wireless media drive, I've got a sandisk one but did not try it yet.

iOS does support dng editing: photoraw, pirawna, Lightroom mobile, photogene, photoshop express.  All do a very good job of handling dng files fm the Q.

i use the apple camera connection kit.. using that both the DNG and jpg import  .... ymmv if you use another method to import to the iPad . . . i do not think that it is possible to import DNG via the leica app wirelessly.

I am doing the same but photos app does not show the DNG file instead it is a blank white space. Lightroom also shows DNG file but does not import it. I have iphone 6s+, is it only for ipad?

I can transfer raw images using the lightning to SD reader on the small iPad pro.  They are badged as being RAW in Lr mobile.   The import seemed to have grabbed  only the raw images when shooting raw+jpeg.   Hmm... I should try using raw only now that I can configure my camera that way.

OK: The iPad import screen shows a box labeled RAW but no image.  Nothing shows up in Photos after import, either -- I expect that to change when the next version if iOS is released per Apple's announcements.  Lr mobile camera roll window also shows a box with a RAW label.  If I select the box and click the Add photo button I can finally see the image.

Image Capture reports the DNG as being present but with a generic icon, no thumbnail.  I can import the image.

This is what it looked like in Mobile Lightroom.

Yes, IOS 10 will natively support it. Better to wait for me. Thank you very much for these explanations!

There is a related problem with the Leica Q app. The app should convert the DNG file to JPG upon importing it to your device. This is what I do when I shoot with my Canon in raw mode. The Canon app imports the files seamlessly, converting to a JPG file for the purpose of editing on iOS platforms, using platform-native or third-party editing tools.

I only use the app as a very fast way to import jpeg images to upload to social media.

Just use the Camera Connection Kit to import SD images, then use Lightroom CC iOS to do other things.
