nick h Posted June 28, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have been really enjoying shooting my Leica Q, and my main criticism was that there wasn't a Q with a 75mm lens also, which would be a killer combo... Looking at the shots of a grey suit from yesterday, there is terrible green and purple moire. Any ideas how to sort this out or prevent it? I attach a cropped shot to illustrate... Doc Henry Posted June 28, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2016 Hi Nick , logic that's digital (Bayer filter on sensor) ! can be reduced by software https://photographylife.com/what-is-moire For this and another reasons , I go back now to film (see open thread "I like film" in "Other" ) Rg Henry
SonomaBear Posted June 28, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 28, 2016 I shall experiment with my borrowed Q The article https://photographylife.com/how-to-avoid-moire has some good tips. I'd like to add that perhaps if you suspect possible moire try manual focus... the zoom in for focus might reveal the moire...?... I don't have time to try today but perhaps someone else could more quickly test with a known moire prone fabric?
