I tried the Transcend 4GB X150 and the M8 wrote to the card but when I tried to download the card to the computer nothing was there??????? I went back to the Sandisk II 2GB. It may have been the card reader on the computer and not the M8...

All my (8) SD cards used in the M8s at Transcend 150x, and I have had zero trouble.

It's the HC version, which may not work in the m8, as of yet.

No they have both. rclompus was asking about the Pro 133x.

No I have not used the 4GB cards, never saw a need for that big of a card, but I do use the Lexar Pro 133x 2GB cards in all my cameras, SD & CF. Never had any problem with any of them.

I found that for the transcend150x on my laptop/m8/desktop, the only way to get them to work on all 3 devices is to format them on the laptop.

anyone that has problems with transcend150x try formating them NOT on the camera like always recommended. you may find they work.

Perhaps in 2gb. B&H's website shows the 4gb 133x Lexar as a non-HC, but when I ordered it, it came in the HC version, so I contacted them, and am returning it. After speaking with 3 sales persons there, it was obvious they know nothing about this detail.

Later, I checked out Lexar's website, and it does NOT show a non-HC 4gb 133x SD card.

Cheers,

OK but they have a different manufacturer number then the SDHC 4GB.

Lexar 4GB 133x Secure Digital (SD) Card

But you are right the Lexar site doesn't list the 4GB card except in the SDHC Pro 133x.

The 4gb Transcend 150x's are working fine. On the reader front, I use the Sandisk Imagemate 12-in-1. It also reads the cards fine.

The Imagemate is a usb-2 device. When I first got it I was blown away by the spead -- about 10 times faster than the transfer either from my D2 via cable or the reader in the cpu.

Tested my cards:

Trancend 4GB 150x takes 39sec to write the full buffer of ten RAWs.

Sandisc 1GB Ex III takes 16sec to write the full buffer of ELEVEN! (probably gets to empty one during shooting) RAWs.

I think it doesnt matter anyway (to me)...

By the way there is no more 4GB 150x s on Transcends site...only SDHC 150X

Marko, I think it may matter if the buffer is clearing in 16 seconds with the Ex III vs 39 seconds with the Transcend.

Does your M8 stop showing the "Transferring Data" message sooner with the Ex III card?

Well I was watching the red LED only...

The fact is that you can shoot during this.

It also takes much longer to show the number on the counter, but the wake up time is the same as wih sandisc. (i can shoot from turning on the camera in about a second..)

Marko, so you're saying that the buffer emptied out in 16 seconds when using the Ex III card?

I find that it take 40-50 seconds for the buffer to empty out when using a Ridata 150x SD card (this was extimated by counting seconds in the head).

Your finding means that Ex III cards write much faster then the type of 150x card I am using. Very useful information! We have not had measurements on this to my knowledge.

Who's up for this?

I was surprised.

If someone could take another test with EX III, maybe I counted wrong (alltough I dont think I could make big mistake...I only counted once, watching the clocks second and the red led at the same time...)
