using R lens with mono 246

With the R Adapter M on the M-P240 fitted with EVF, I can focus the Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm with Live View. Of course the camera knows nothing about the lens' focusing ring, so to get magnification I press the button on the front and enable it manually. Exposure metering seems fine with manual or aperture priority operation. I set the lens code manually too. It doesn't seem to consume too much battery, but then I don't use it this way very often.

Should be the same on the MM246.

I will confirm ramarren's post on the 246.  I don't use my R lenses much on my 246, so have to remember that front button gets you the magnification and also can see the focus peaking better.  An EVF a must I think if using R lenses, although suppose can do with just Live View on the screen.  And the rangefinder focusing is not functional. Have to rely on focus peaking, which the magnification helps to see.

I'm using. 60mm Type R lens on a Monochrom 246... Am I correct in saying focus doesn't work and exposures are up the creek!? With the electronic viewfinder I can focus but no magnification? Also if this is the way forward is there a good place to buy spare batteries?!

There should be no problem with exposure, only EVF/LV focusing and framing obviously, focus magnification works with the front button, but note that if you accidentally set it to 1x by the thumb wheel it will seem as if it is not working.

Batteries are available all over the place, but in general show little to no price variations. There are no third-party batteries.
