stuny Posted June 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since my last two threads were in France, let’s revisit one of my favorite cities: Paris. Shown here is the Hotel De Ville, which to us Yanks would be called the town hall. I shot this from the foot bridge connecting the Ile de la Cite and the Ile San Luis. R8/DMR/28-70. You can see more on the three Paris photo galleries of our site.

psquared Posted June 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2007 Stunning shot, Stuart. I love the contrast, colors, and details. Was the camera on the bridge hand rail or do you take a tripod on your travels? Peter
pemayeux Posted June 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 8, 2007 Superb Stuart! What wonderful light, details and exposure. I'm curious too as to how you steadied the camera. How long was the exposure?
stuny Posted June 8, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted June 8, 2007 Peter & Paul - Thank you. We always travel with carry-on luggage only, so no tripod. As Peter suggests, I rested the camera on the bridge railing. When I used to use film in the R8 I always used 400 film, partly because all my lenses are relatively slow. I keep the DMR at ISO 400, too. BTW: I was lucky regarding the sky.

kuddel Posted June 9, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2007 Stuart, very good picture. I like it because the nightly illuminated scene emphasize the monumental character of Hotel de Ville. Regards, Andreas
