I forgot to check my firmware version and went right to installing V.2 (I already know this waqs a mistake) - my camera says Version Up On Going and there is an update bar but it has been like this for the past 20 minutes. I am now thinking that I may have a real issue. Does anyone know if you install over V.2 with V.2 if this might happen? Doesn't seem like it would, but that is the only thing I can think of.

Also if this does not resolve itself would anyone know any steps to restore the camera? Or will I have to just send it to Panasonic?

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this...

Matt

In April, when I upgraded my L1 FW from V1.1 to V2.0, I recall after the upgrade, the L1 seemed to be in a 'standy-by' state.

A half-press of the shutter woke it up.

I would expect that applying V2 onto a camera with V2 should not damage the camera.

Just wanted to update - it turns out that I needed to have my lens attached for the firmware to upgrade. my fault for not being thorough enough on reading the directions.

Panasonic customer service had me power off the camera (even though the upgrade was frozen), then take out the memory card. I then turned on the camera, which functioned fine.

I then did attach the lens, reformatted the memory card, put a new version of the firmware on the card and then tried again. Worked fine and no damage done from powering down.

Just thought I would document my experience in case someone else forgets to attach the lens. Customer service also claimed there is no harm if you install 2.0 over 2.0.
