jaapv Posted June 17, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice, to connect my M240 for tethered shooting... Not that it has an USB port. A sales ploy for the Multigrip?
Advertisement Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Image shuttle 3.3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Exodies Posted June 17, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 17, 2016 Not as much fun as you might imagine as USB is slow there is no Liveview.
darylgo Posted June 18, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 18, 2016 A nice feature for my occasional use. Seeing the image on the computer real time has advantages over later review. Adding functionality to the M through the grip while keeping the camera small is a stroke of genius. Choices are advantageous.
ayewing Posted June 18, 2016 Share #4 Posted June 18, 2016 My only regret on upgrading from the M9 to the M240 was the loss of the usb port. I do not have much liking for added grips and the multifunction grip is too expensive for me to justify the little use that I would make of it. Perhaps the next version of the M could restore the usb port and perhaps add an HDMI port while they are at it.
Exodies Posted June 18, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 18, 2016 What would be nice would be a phone app equivalent.
LocalHero1953 Posted June 18, 2016 Share #6 Posted June 18, 2016 It would be a sensible move to bring back the USB port next time. I would occasionally use it for tethered shooting, but would not get the multigrip. Bizarre choice at Leica: issue Leica Image Shuttle for a camera that can't use it without a prosthetic, and issue a camera that really needs it (SL) and fail to have LIS available even 8 months after launch. Well, at least the connection to PS and LR is configured for USB 3.0, they claim.
hoppyman Posted June 19, 2016 Share #8 Posted June 19, 2016 Looking more broadly, Leica Image Shuttle 3.3 is for S (Typ 007) and (Typ 006), The M, the M-P and the Monochrom (Typ 246)
jaapv Posted June 19, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted June 19, 2016 Yes, but for M owners it would have been nice to have something to plug into...
darylgo Posted June 20, 2016 Share #10 Posted June 20, 2016 M9 plug cover was obtrusive, if it was flush that would be fine. Leica did it right with the M240.
jaapv Posted June 20, 2016 Author Share #11 Posted June 20, 2016 It never bothered me at all, even if I never opened the cover.
jto555 Posted June 20, 2016 Share #12 Posted June 20, 2016 If Leica were going to add a socket, my vote is for a PC socket. It would be nice to be able to plugin a flash wireless transmitter to fire off camera flash while still using the EVF for critical focus. By the way, is it an oxymoron to have to plug in a wire on a wireless transmitter...?
