saechang Posted May 9, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was wondering if anyone knew what the Leica Q write speed was. I was looking at picking up a SanDisk ExtremePRO 250MB UHS-II but wanted to know if the Leica Q could take advantage of the speeds or if I'm better off just sticking with my UHS-I card. Thanks! pop Posted May 9, 2016 Share #2 Posted May 9, 2016 The data sheet of the Q has this to say: Storage media SD/SDHC/SDXC, multimedia cards, speed class: UHS-1.

lucerne Posted May 9, 2016 Share #4 Posted May 9, 2016 Mike. im using a 32gb LEXAR 1000x. 150mb/sec without any problems. Not sure what all the label categories mean, but it's an SD HC 11. It has two banks of edge connections, although I don't think that my Leica Q uses the additional contacts. In fact, I doubt that the Q can make use of the cards speed capabilities, but it does future proof my card purchase for a short period. hope that helps. beez Posted May 11, 2016 Share #5 Posted May 11, 2016 The Q is UHS-1 capable which means a write speed of about 95-100mb/sec. You can use a UHS-2 card, but it will not take advantage of the extra speed for these cards. There's a good site where they've tested the actual throughput read/write speeds of various brands and capacity cards in different cameras. Surprising that different cameras read/write the same cards at different speeds in the tests. Not surprising that they've not tested an Leicas. http://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/
