Whilst stewarding Peterborough Photographic Society's Annual Exhibition at St John the Baptist Church in Peterborough city centre today I walked around and took a few photos of some of the stained glass windows and the chancel wood carving - using a Leica C compact camera handheld above my head to try and minimise the converging verticals.

These were Leica C DNG files. There are many other stained glass windows and carvings in the church; I plan to return with my Leica SL plus shift lens and tripod and hopefully obtain more detailed photos - without the need for PP perspective correction required for the above images.

Best wishes

These are most impressive pictures which show how capable the diminutive Leica C can be. I do not have one - I have the Panasonic clone, the LF1 which I think produces much the same results. It has the great advantage of being small enough to fit in a shirt breast pocket so it is a camera which is likely to be available when the bigger better cameras are left at home. It often seems to be overlooked in the Leica line up.

Yes it's a much underestimated and under-enjoyed camera and very capable of producing excellent images - especially from DNG files - but I guess many people just use it in JPEG Programme mode. I was travelling 'light' yesterday so tucked it into my shirt pocket.
