Speenth Posted August 5, 2007 Share #41 Posted August 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I cycle everywhere and all the time. I like to take my cameras, but the bag requirement is now quite a specialist one .... or is it? I need a small bag, reasonably waterproof, well-padded (I fall off my bike a lot, usually in mucky, rough and rocky places) and it has to be comfortable to tote with both hands free. Furthermore, I don't want to have to stop riding, dismount, haul off a backpack or unzip panniers - by then either the photo-opportunity will have passed or more likely I just won't be bovvered. So after much searching and experimentation I finally found something - the Mata-Mata from Kalahari Bags: Just 50 Euros, nicely made, attractive and very un-camera-bag. It has a well padded shoulder band and detachable waist band and carry handle. It has a rather neat feature too - the bag is double-skinned - the inner bag is completely self contained and can be removed from the outer. Thus you can leave the photokit at home, still in the segmented inner bag and take an attractive canvas bag with you for other purposes (on those rare occasions when an M8 is not essential company). PS: It happily accepts my M8, 15mm, 24mm, 50mm, flashgun, tabletop tripod, camera maintenance stuff, spare SD cards and batteries, sundry gadgets and gizmos, wallet, eyeglasses, MP3 player, Garmin GPS, Milka Bar, kitchen sink .... mwalker649 Posted August 5, 2007 Share #42 Posted August 5, 2007 Take a look at the Domke F-5XB. It will hold the camera and 2 extra lenses, cards and a spare battery. It is small and the quality of Domke is well known. Amazon has a sale right now. Regards. DR I can vouch for this bag as well...buy the canvas and it looks really low profile but its very functional. lenjh Posted August 19, 2007 Share #43 Posted August 19, 2007 I just bought the M8, 75 Lux and 35 ASPH. I can get the M8 with lens attached and the 2nd lens in a Billingham Airline POLA, extra battery, filters, cleaning cloth, memory cards, all in quite a small package. Perfect for travel. My problem is when I am home and want to carry a tripod, head, clamp for hte RRS Ballhead, etc. Can anyone recommend the smallest profile Billingham that I can attach the tripod with or w/o billingham straps. I us ea carbon fiber travel Gitzo. Thanks, Leonardo
