yymca6 Posted April 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Some older (2011 and 2012) suggest to manually code the lens as a 21 Elmarit F/2.8 pre-ASPH (code 11134) while La Vida Leica suggests code 11135 (21mm Elmarit f/2.8 ASPH). Anyone with the right answer? Thanks
Advertisement Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Hi yymca6, Take a look here Coding Voigtlander 21mm F/4 Pancake on M240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ECohen Posted April 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2016 I don't know the correct answer to your question......I have only been using the CV21 f/4 for about 6 months ...love the lens. I have been coding it to the Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 11134 and then correcting the corner magenta vignette in LR post. There is also a preset in LR for the distortion I play with...sometimes. I tend to like the "funkiness" of wide angles so I'm not very critical of distortion ....but the magenta vignette which drives me crazy is an easy fix. There is an old post from a member regarding this question (see below) Perhaps this should have been posted in the "M lens" forum? I know there are many skilled users of the CV21 on the forum.....Let go guys whats the correct/prefered answer? Nick S Posted 28 April 2014 "I have just bought a new M-mount 21mm/F4.0 Color Skopar Pancake II lens and I have been delighted with the build quality, lack of flare, and the fine detail rendered with the Monochrom body, using it over the last couple of weeks. Further, when coded as an Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 11134 lens there is minimal vignetting."
Ernstk Posted April 21, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 21, 2016 I use the 11134 profile on my M240. I don't seem to have any problem with red/magenta edges. As ECohen says, there's a useful CV21/4 lens profile in Lightroom. Ernst
yymca6 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted April 21, 2016 Thank you very much for your answers. I'll try 11134 and let you know if it worked (along with the LR profile. I should have mentioned that I also have a Super-Elmar 21mm F/3.4 but for traveling with 4 lenses(Cron 28 and Cron50, a 21 and a Summilux 90 F/2.5) it may be bulky, that's why I want to bring the CV with me. bocaburger Posted April 21, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 21, 2016 I have 2 M240s and 2 of the CV 21/4s (LTM and M versions) and definitely the pre-ASPH, just as it was on the M9 and its derivatives, is much more effective than the ASPH coding.
yymca6 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks for your answer. So I'll use 11134 pre-ASPH code.
