Advertisement Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hi lensblur, Take a look here LEICA APO-TELYT-M 135 mm f/3.4 ASPH. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DaveEP Posted June 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2007 I have this lens and love it. The hardest part about using it is estimating the framing with any sort of acuracy. 50% between the patch and 90mm frame lines is somewhat conservative. At infinity the frame is actually much nearer the 90mm frame. Acrurate focusing at f3.4 take some practice, and where it's really important I may bracket the focusing a little, especially if I am close to the subject (i.e. portraits). At f5.6 upwards I have had no problems at all. I have found this lens to be pretty sharp throughout the range, although I have not gone past f11. It's not my most used lens by a very long way, but when it's the right lens for the job, it's a beauty. I also have the 2.8 version and the APO is streets ahead..... lensblur Posted June 5, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted June 5, 2007 Thanks. Is this much more difficult to focus than 90 on an M8?
Guest guy_mancuso Posted June 5, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 5, 2007 it's a really great lens , very sharp wide open . No harder to focus than the 90mm. I had the mount replaced for a 90mm and also had it coded for the 135 2.8. So when the lens is one I get the 90mm frame lines as a guide for composition
lensblur Posted June 5, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted June 5, 2007 Thanks Guy and DaveEP, I managed to get it a couple of hours ago. Got time to take a few photos...(evening here). B&W Colour and a crop... This lens is fun
jaapv Posted June 5, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 5, 2007 See my "don't change the mount "thread. You do not have to change the mount to bring up the 90 mm frame. Just push the lens release button and rotate it further to the stop.
