Finally I decided to buy this lens 21mm f4 SA, now he comes to my hands in a short time:

Matchin IWKOO hood is in the pack but I'm going to sell because they do not use.

I prefer to put the washer-ring from 39-43 and a yellow filter on the lens.

  • 2 weeks later...

I can not find another goal 21mm Leica to do this, 40 centimeters from the face of people, contrast and sharpness, much DOF, quality, some shortcomings are forgiven for my part, I love this lens, I think the week comes'll have one mint.

I have the same lens and the wonderful greys in this picture remind me of what I got out of this lens.  Since moving to digital I haven't shot it as much.  If I ever get a monochrom M I might dust it off.

This thread cost me serious money. I started out intending to pick up a C-V 21/4 and ended up with a 21/3.4 SEM. I need to quit coming here.

Ditto here. An identical journey because of this dreaded thread that also landed upon the SEM, with a short contemplative layover on the ZM 21 C.

Fortunate for Leica that Zeiss has not updated that little marvel for digital.

Yes, 21SEM is indeed a very capable, small and light weight WA lens...

I wonder then what the real metering issue is. Aren't these specifically pointed out as having problems with digital M's?

You may even shoot in A mode with a -2 stop and 2/3 to -3 stops aperture compensation. Works well most of the time or correct manually to the proper reading.

jmanivelle, I think you will be very satisfied with f4.

james.liam, There should be no problem ever with the measurement, you can do like me, measure the light with your eyes, or you use an external exposure meter.

Thanks, I sold my 21 SA 4  last year and been missing  it .

The Color Skopar 21mm f/4 is a very nice lens, worked beautifully with film and on my Ricoh GXR, but I found it to have some rendering issues with the M9 and M-P typ 240 which bugged me a bit. I sold it and bought an Elmar-M 24/3.8 ASPH.

That was a lovely performer but I found I didn't use it as much as I expected. I traded that one for a Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH (or 'WATE').

The WATE turns out to be exactly the right lens for me. Not too bulky, fast enough, and the focal length range is perfect for that I tend to do with ultrawides. I go square format and usually use 16mm with it, but 21mm squares work well too. It also works beautifully on both my M-P and SL bodies.
