nawoo Posted April 17, 2016 Share #21 Posted April 17, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can answer that after one week of using it: it does wonders. I think the Q beats the M all Ms in matter of DR. More on that later as I'm still testing but OS far the camera output is impressive. please post some sunset or sunrise shots when you're done with your testing Would love to see them! I hope they make a Q with 50mm in the future. I can foresee myself switching to all Qs for wedding work. It'll be super small and unobtrusive, ability to autofocus quickly will be key to nailing the quick candid shots during weddings. the Ms don't have autofocus do they? That's why I never got down to switching to Leica for wedding work. I'm currently using a Sony A7s with a Zeiss Otus 55mm. Been using it with focus peaking and it's great, so technically I could use the M240 for wedding work.

I will for sure.Ms are rangefinders, all manual and they are "at least to me" the best photographic instruments ever invented. Nothing beats their lens IQ but most importantly, nothing beats the magic of a rangefinder system. If you live in a country where renting camera is not a big deal, rent the Q and take it to one of your next weddings and put it to your own tests and pace. Do the same with an M and see which one works for you better. Don't think of switching camera system at first, go with the new system side by side with the one you're using. I personally don't like Digital EVF for pro jobs, using a screen for such jobs is even worse. This is the only major caveat I find for now with the Q, its EVF, simply mediocre and not up to the quality of the camera. Im sure the next Q will have the SL EVF and that is a different story. Sony makes an special adaptor to their 28mm that screw in front of the lens replacing the hood, these are for widening the focal, but what is interesting is that they communicate to the body maybe with NFC if the reader function is implemented in the body so that the body automatically adjust to the adaptor that would hold an NFC tag (at the minimum we get exif). Fuji does a 50mm equivalent with their X100T and the custom TCL adaptor. The issue with full frame is that the adaptor may require a lot of glass and be heavy that will not help for the camera balance, however, if quality is good, in some circumstances, that would be still better than a second body and lens...
