JBonner Posted June 4, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted June 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a Hoya (DMC) Pro1 UV Filter filter for my D3 lens last week and have been pleased with the results so far. I can't bring myself to pay the amounts Leica want so I am now thinking about a polariser from either Hoya or B&W. Does anyone have any thoughts about the relative merits of these brands, or indeed, any other suggestions?
jdlaing Posted June 4, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted June 4, 2007 A Heliopan is every bit as good if not better than the Hoya or B&W. I have all three. Â The main difference is the Heliopan has a scale of numbers around the outer ring so that a record can be kept or the filter returned to the same setting as well as the degree of polarization. Â A bit pricey tho.......
Riley Posted June 5, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted June 5, 2007 i gather its just about lens protection ? i think most people would be happy with Hoya or Tiffen
