freecitizen Posted June 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought my new M8 last week and now learning to drive it. I'm using the standard camera strap which came with the camera, but it still felt a little slippy in general to me. Then I got the leica Camera Protector Half-case No 14869. Not cheap, but appears well made. It has transformed the camera for me to one I now hold easily without fatigue. I think this grip is allowing me to handhold easily at slower speeds. I certainly feel there is next to no chance I will drop the M8 with this case on it. I have smallish hands, and a bit of arthritis. Never really felt i had full control of the M8 when it was " bare ". This case has made a huge difference for me, so I recommend anyone feeling that the camera is a bit slippery to check it out. It might be quite useful to you.
Advertisement Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hi freecitizen, Take a look here M8 Leica Camera Protector Halfcase. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gravastar Posted June 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2007 The only thing to watch with the case is the clip-stud fingers which hold it in place will wear the chrome/black finish on the body somewhat. When you hold the camera most of the pressure is on those studs. Bob.
tom0511 Posted June 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 4, 2007 I bought both the grip and the protector and like the protector much better and do use it all the time. The only thing I dislike is having to remove it to change the sd-card. I probably will sell the grip again.
