urimuller Posted March 25, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I dropped my Monochrom and now, when you look through the rangefinder window, there is a VERTICAL missadjustment which does not seem to affect the overall focus of the image. I had the lens checked out and it is fine. Any ideas on what is causing this and how it can be fixed? Thank you
Advertisement Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi urimuller, Take a look here Monochrom focusing problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Uwe M. Posted March 25, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2016 Focus, or inability to get correct focus is a major reason for rangefinder camera failure. Two camera faults which lead to bad focus are incorrect lens register and misadjusted rangefinders. (Source:http://jay.fedka.com/index_files/Page422.htm) If your lense works well, i think the rangefinder is misadjusted.
urimuller Posted March 25, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted March 25, 2016 I suppose I should send it to Leica New Jersey for adjustment. Thank you.
jaapv Posted March 31, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 31, 2016 Better take it to an independent repairer. This is a ten minute repair job, but Leica will take considerably longer than that.
