Nenad - i am perfectly happy for you to think that this is a basic silhouette thread. I would just throw in the further consistent elements of color film and the low winter sunlight. That's about it. No long and pointless monologues. Just some "junk photography" from NYC.

I'm not sayig they are basic silhouettes. Just that shooting silhouettes is a basic form of photography. Some are quite stunning that's for sure.

But for a thread about anonymous new yorkers I am expecting more than just silhouettes. New York has so much more to give, that's all.

I really like the strong color shots

Yes, i have noticed.

The push processing and direct sunlight extracts a lot of the strong colors, unfortunately. Let's see what next winter brings. These are all from this past (and last) winter...

It is a true blessing to be a photographer-enthusiast in NYC. The cityscapes alone are a full time hobby...

I'm still waiting for the book of NYC "junk photography", silhouettes and all ;)

I'm still serious.

Adam, get on it.

J :)

Ha ha, LOL. I wish i could. :( The summer is almost over here in Israel and next week it is back to the grind in NYC including the scanning of the 75+ rolls of 35mm and MF film from the summer. Let's see what next winter brings; it is right around the corner, after all!

I agree, Marc. A killer stare, indeed :)

Did you used flash here Adam? Image looks amazing and almost film-HDR

Hey Rodrigue!

What got me atopped at that particular spot that morning was the sun coming from the east (which was behind the woman) and reflecting quite aggressively off of the new Freedom Tower and back onto the front of the people walking. Especially in the wintet there are some many of these "natural studios". It avoids the need for a flash, which i typically now reserve for the snow blizzards :)

I thought that I must be sun reflection as it covers big areas that your flash won't cover anyways. You're NY Master Adam.

PS: can't wait to see images from your summer vacation:-)
