Advertisement Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Did Leica ever fix the problem with the 50mm F2 APO. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Peter Kilmister Posted March 23, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted March 23, 2016 Hi Neil, I checked that out before getting a 50mm f2 APO. It was an issue that was resolved. My serial number is 4296042 which is unaffected. The affected ones were much earlier. Someone may have exact details of serial numbers that are affected. thighslapper Posted March 23, 2016 Share #3  Posted March 23, 2016 Yes  One lens element was altered ...... probably a different coating .... and internal blacking of various bits was changed (as far as info goes ... which is a bit sparse)  No reports of any issues following the 6 month stop in production to sort it.

EoinC Posted March 24, 2016 Share #8 Â Posted March 24, 2016 I have a 50mm Apo Summicron, and have had no ghosting issues with digital or film, Neil. Â What's bringing about the return to a M lens? Â ...and your legs appear to changed somewhat. You've been working out, haven't you?
