Leica SL vs Leica S2

Dear friends, owner of Leica S2 + 70 CS, I would like to ask those who have been able to make a comparison series use: it would make sense to change my Leica S2 with Leica SL + 24/90 dedicated? It 'clear that in terms of versatility, there is no comparison. I wanted purely in terms of image quality if the SL can never compete with the average sister format. As in shades of colre of the 16 bits of S2. This is one to which're ready to keep and I'm afraid of losing. It 'clear that the sharpness and overall quality of S2 is higher, but to what? Thinking also to the fact that the optimal conditions for when not in the studio with the S2 are not always such. I refer to the vibration of the mirror and the shutter speed to not nullify all that the average size is able to return. Even for studio work, the SL how it behaves for fashion work and professional portrait. Even for large prints. I will not even consider the possibility that I would have to mount adapter with my beloved optical Lay M. From the tests and ITest seen on the web I noticed that his goal dedicated returns a much higher quality to others adapted. Surely it was meant to make the most of the sensor and the system. Thank you.

Unfortunately I don't own a S2 but an up-to-date medium format from another brand.

In my opinion it's impossible to compare a medium format with a 35mm camera.

I love both, the SL and the medium format. But I would never consider to use the SL in my studio when I have a 'specialist' at my fingertips. The same is true the other way around. The SL is perfect for 'on the road'-jobs, journalism and everything else.

And of course you cannot compare the bodies alone. A medium format prime lens is a complete other piece of gear than a perfect zoom lens.

My conclusion is: I need both. Each for the jobs they are built for.

If budget matters and I could only have one camera? Then I would pick the SL because it is the better allrounder.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you. The point is that for the street photos and other use for many years Leica M (M9 and Monochron CCD). I love the yield of the CCD. I noticed something in the SL files that attracts me more than the M240. I do not know, maybe the colors and certainly the resolution with its 24/90 that sometimes seems sizes. dynamic range (although it is not 16-bit, ouch) body building really well done, do the rest. Then the comparison, in my case, it is with the S2 (wonderful for me) that already has several years of planning (came out in 2009). I wanted to know if any of you utizza the SL with satisfaction for the work of study and large size prints. The three-dimensionality of the increased size and beauty of the colors are the S2 strengths. But at what price? Conditions of use and always controlled light. I was wondering if in this case the new SL if he drew enough. I downloaded the DNG files of the presentation to the Leitz Park, those of the model with the peacock feathers. Working them with LR 6 and CO9 not seem bad. Detail and tonal range that does not really feel like a 24x36 format. I'm intrigued. Hello.

Nobody uses the Leica SL for studio photo? Thank you.

I did some headshots with the SL in my studio to check the performance. The quality of the pictures is absolut competitive.

Unfortunately there is absolut no integration in a professional studio workflow. In particular you cannot shoot tethered (neither with Ligthroom nor C1).

Are you sure that the Leica SL does not have tethering with LR? I have different information.

I would be happy if I'm wrong. But I'm unable to make it work.

The section in the manual, where it is described seems to be a sneak preview into the future.
