I like the people on the jetty too, gives it a grand scale. It has to be appreciated for the beauty of it's pure engineering. Only the design of the granite piers reveal it's Victorian age. It's not been structurally altered since it was constructed and was the longest span of double cantilevered trusses then, and remains with few exceptions since.
