My attention is immediately taken to the disposable rubbish each girl is holding, which is a comment on our society at large. Three components in each cup, two of which are not even necessary. This is not a comment on your photography frame-it, which is well executed since taken from a moving taxi. My comment only refers to the subject, which unfortunately is representative of us as a society.

Oh yes, in Asia they waste a Lot of plastic, and recently some places are shifting to paper straws which apparently have more "forever chemicals" than plastic!!

We are doomed, and we know it. 🤓

How can a real solution be implemented?

Notwithstanding the waste that is generated, I was very impressed with how the Japanese cleaned up and kept everything tidy.

We have little choice about how goods are packaged or presented.  Of course the drinks above can be asked to not have covers or straws.

When i purchase stuff, I'll often ask for minimal, and/or biodegradable or recyclable packaging...sometimes works B)

Used to get massive boxes with an indestructable item packed in litres of polystyrene peanuts...now that made me really cranky....

Particularly when it could be posted in an envelope..

I think a tax/deposit scheme/ collection imperitive should be included in the cost of all goods nowadays.  Incuding car tyres, more than etc, etc, etc.

In South Australia we were the first Australian state to introduce mandatory bottle and drinks container recycling cash. About over 30 years ago. Our outback and City streets are clear of bottle trash.  Unfortunately big industry has only just now bowed to this scheme in other States...seeing more recycling, and Scouts, Homeless, etc making some pocket money.

How much pressure does Industry need?..We just don't seem to have a social conscience.
