soundsgoodsg Posted February 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have no idea what the technical name for it would be, but the tiny plastic nub that serves to click lock the visoflex at 0 degrees has broken: perhaps it's an inherent flaw of design (a magnet wasn't an option?) that it would eventually snap off, as I like to swap from 0 degrees to 90 degrees a lot... just wondering who else has this happened to? Not complaining, just curious.
Advertisement Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Hi soundsgoodsg, Take a look here Visoflex Plastic Nub. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jdlaing Posted February 29, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 29, 2016 Not to me so far. I change the angle on mine very rarely.
Belle123 Posted February 29, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 29, 2016 Had similar happen on the EVF on my M. Tempted to tape it down. Just noticed the T EVF made in Indonesia, and the EVF2 made in China.
nocturnal1 Posted February 29, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 29, 2016 Mine didn't break, but it was never very good at keeping the Visoflex in the 0 degrees position, which meant that it would flip to 90 degrees while carrying the camera against the body or when pulling it out of a case. Since I never use the Visoflex at 90 degrees, I elected to replace the weak latch a bit of glue and have had no problems since then (though I understand this is very much not the solution you are looking for given your shooting style). So, yes, I too had a Visoflex with a rather weak latch mechanism.
TheHobbit Posted March 1, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 1, 2016 I don't use it much but I do put a bit of blutack to help lock it in place.
Guest Posted March 2, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 2, 2016 Does the "Leica passport" make the EVF replaceable for whatever reason for 3 years?
FeralCoton Posted March 18, 2016 Share #7 Posted March 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mine spontaneously broke off. Leica actually responded to a forum post and replaced it at no charge. It is an odd design, but they took care of it.
