rivi1969 Posted February 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Since I am always amazed by its amazing IQ, just wondering if some X Vario owner could be so kind and tell me the maximum aperture of the XV at 24mm? It is my favourite focal length and I can do some equivalence casual test shots with my X1 at different distances just to check if it is possible to achieve at least "some" narrow depth of field at that aperture... I guess it would be something around f4-4.5?. Thanks! Ricardo
Advertisement Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Hi rivi1969, Take a look here X Vario maximum aperture @ 24mm?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
williamgm Posted February 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2016 The X-Vario lens range is actually 28mm-70mm (equivalent), not 24mm. As the aperture range is f3.5 to f6.4, the maximum aperture at the widest setting (28mm) will be f3.5, i assume. Geoff

(28mm x *0,75 / 32mm x 0,75 = 24mm)

But since I like to shoot 35mm in my Sony A7, the equivalent is 24mm in APS format, exactly as my Leica X1 is. That is why I would like to know which aperture correspond at that focal length. kalifornier Posted February 24, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2016 I believe it is f/4 (from one of the reviews I read, I don't own one).
rivi1969 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted February 25, 2016 I believe it is f/4 (from one of the reviews I read, I don't own one). Thank you Kalifornier, so then it would be 1-stop slower than the X1 at that focal length. Since i like to be close to the action it won't be that bad I guess.
