John Z. Goriup Posted February 15, 2016 Share #1  Posted February 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Every year around this time it seems we are blessed by a succession of a few crucial days, usually after a particularly long, difficult stretch of cold, wet and miserable weather, when the sun comes out, the skies turn blue and spring well & truly erupts in our corner of the world, while so much or the rest of the country still suffers with winter weather.  In January, Feb. & March the Napa Valley Chamber of Commerce even puts on the annual 'Mustard Festival' to promote their wines, food & art to attract tourism, but that's all much too crass and commercial for my taste, and therefore I like to escape to the more remote and rural, less travelled parts of 'wine country' and celebrate the arrival of spring in my own more private and introspective manner - a fine bottle of last years crop, a home-cooked picnic, a Leica around my neck, long walks through the vineyards,…….Heaven.  Sonoma county, M-P240 / 50mm f2 Summicron.  JZG Welcome, dear visitor!
