In February 2019, one person got 50 photos chosen by LFI Gallery and February is not yet ending... 50 master shots, wow...

It sounds like some camera clubs that I know. Why bother with nonsense like this? There are plenty of other possible outlets for your photography.

I think I have worked out why I cant get any master shots or selections when submitting to LFI. I don't subscribe anymore......do we have to pay to be considered?

That could be a plausible explanation.

I believe that may be the case.

Registering as a member is not the same as subscribing to something. Being a member is free.

(…) I have noticed none of my work getting chosen since I stopped paying them for the subscription and just buying LFI mag at local Leica store.

Now, that’s very interesting with regards to this topic and discussion, I think.

Exactly. I am under the impression that if I submit an amazing photo that is Master Shot material,  unless I am paying for their subscription service ( though already having a login ) it will  not be chosen. I have noticed none of my work getting chosen since I stopped paying them for the subscription and just buying LFI mag at local Leica store.

I've had 3 Master Shots and 13 selections in other categories approved so far, and I've never been a subscriber, so it's not necessary. I haven't uploaded very many photos, because I only choose the ones I think they might be interested in.

I guess it's not enough for an image to be technically perfect, it's more important that it has “something extra” - something funny, surprising, or something that otherwise catches the viewer's attention.

It's not always easy for oneself to see what this “extra” might be.
