I hear you, and the collection on #15 do not have any like mine that clearly is made of brass and is painted black. I just do not know any Leica items that are made to have a raw brass look?

I know the paint quality is not good, except for the viewfinder that is very smooth.  but it is a well worn 1933 item.

Here is a better photo of the brass and black paint.

You can clearly see a difference: the finder is original painted, the arm holding the item later. Brass is sensible to moisture so any good instrument-maker like Leitz wouldn't leave raw brass visible, either lacquer or nickel or nickel/chrome was applied.

I see the difference too in paint between the finder, and the arm. But it just look like the "non original" paint/lacquer is applied direct on the brass.

Then someone removed the nickel from the brass to paint it black afterwards?

Anyway, will this add or subtract to rarity/value of this item?

best regards

Christian

I'm afraid all post-production modifications if not made by Leica will lower the value of any item for the collectors 😞

Im fine with that fact, and will keep it anyways and use it..

Today I tested the Stereoly in my studio, applied on my Leica M8 with a 35mm color skopar, (to adjust the crop factor). And first result making a stereo photo with this Stereoly is working amazing 3D effect with an old stereo viewer!

Does anyone know why some VORSA attachments have a segment of the circumference cut out of the circular collar and some do not?

Some Summar lenses which can use the filter for Agfacolor have a pin on the aperture ring, perhaps for better handling of such lenses there was a cut-out?
