Graafber Posted January 28, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you use your camera not for a while they suggest to take the battery out of your camera. Is that really necessary and what will happen with your pre sets / profiles? Will they be lost after a certain time? Can anyone give an answer on that? Graafber Posted January 30, 2016 Author Share #2 Posted January 30, 2016 Dum question, or nobody an idea? Appreciate a reaction.
Exodies Posted January 30, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2016 I would be very surprised if the presets were not stored in permanent memory, like the SD card. However the camera has a rechargeable battery inside to keep the clock running while the main battery is removed; not sure if this battery doesn't also power volatile memory. Not a dumb question. When experimenting with this to find the answer I would store my presets on the SD card just in case.
ECohen Posted January 30, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2016 Because you requested an answer..........I'm not sure on the 240, its never come up for me. With cheap pocket cameras all info is lost after the internal battery runs out. When you reinstall a battery you start set up all over again. I suspect it's the same for the 240....make a test The 240 is a simple camera to use ....If you don't use it that often it's not a big deal to set up those preferences again. It would also be good practice to run through those preferences to remind you of your choices If you don't want to lose your profiles I think you can save them to an SD card and reinstall them. If they are that important to you you may want to "back up"your profiles up to a card. hope this helps......there are no questions are dumb
Pobble Posted February 1, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2016 Presets can be stored on SD card and transferred to a new SD card, as well as back to camera. It saves lots of time when loading new firmware.
