I personally think it's a miracle such places have lasted this long. Haven't seen supermarkets offering film services in Sweden since... ever, in fact.

I'm a very firm believer in supporting the niche suppliers - even if they may cost a little more - so find a good pro lab near you, and give them your committed custom. Even buy your film from them, and make sure you spread the word about their service.

As I've often said on the forum, I use Teamframkallning here in Stockholm - I often mention the service simply because it is so good, and other film users in the area deserve to know about it, instead of some other labs that have a higher profile, but charge much more for inferior results.

So find a place like that, and keep using them, encouraging them, and spreading the word. That way, you can be sure they'll still be around in twenty years time.

The local press seem to have picked this up specifically, in other regions not so, it is part of a drive to cut 5,000 jobs not targeted at photoprocessing specifically but as an underperforming area, possibly, it would be an obvious target.

Note also pharmacy hours may be reduced, a high labour cost area.

Photo services are collateral damage not the specific target.
