spylaw4 Posted June 1, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted June 1, 2007 Olympus ME-1 is supposed to fit, but there have been some comments here that it is not that good. I intend to have look through one fairly soon to see if it is worth buying. There was a thread recently about modifiying a Pentax eyepiece.
Riley Posted June 1, 2007 Share #3  Posted June 1, 2007 being a total capitalist I have both the ME-1 and the Pentax FWIW both improve things slightly, the Pentax O-ME53 is a slight improvement on the Olympus ME-1, mostly because there is a slight bit more eye relief. They are both about the same magnification. Personally anything that improves the dull poro finders is a good thing.  thing is you have to file stuff on the eyepiece to make it fit, so its not like it goes straight on but it is only about a 15 minute job to take the rubber off the Pentax eyepiece, remove the optic, file the part to fit and re-assemble.  courtesy of four thirds photo forum  Pentax O-ME53 on E400! - FourThirdsPhoto Forum  and test your German  Die Alternative zur Sucherlupe ME-1: Pentax O-ME53 - DSLR-Forum
Riley Posted June 1, 2007 Share #4  Posted June 1, 2007 quite forgot to mention the Pentax cost about half that of the Olympus item and is superior because it is slightly larger and has more eye relief and the eye cup is larger and more comfortable  Optic Dimensions Olympus ME-1 : 5/16" Pentax O-ME53 : 3/8 x 7/16"
jdlaing Posted June 1, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted June 1, 2007 If you wear glasses the ME-1 isn't that good due to the shape of the eyepiece. It holds your eye farther away from the viewfinder.
