I am an engineer and I really like nicely machined parts. For me there is beauty in old mechanical lenses and accessories. suffice to say I love German engineering. :)

The ingredients:

L to R: hood, 135mm Tele-Elmar lens head, focusing adaptor OTZFO 16464K, R to M adaptor 14127, APO-Extender 2X making 270mm f/8 lens on Nex-6 with perfect infinity focus.

(Ignore the Scotch that made me do this) :)

Very exciting combo, well done!

But I don't recognize a progress in emtying the whisky between the two pictures!

How is this possible?

Thomas

Same level does not mean same drink.... It was refilled 2nd time (at least that's what I counted) in between.

And thanks. :D

Jayant -

German engineering and scotch!  Here is a thread from the past on this forum about Scotch.  Wonderful stories from our members.

Thanks Rick... yes, Leica goes very well with Scotch. :)

I went through the lively thread and contributed my bit to it. Cheers !!

Oh, that one.... sold for 375000 SEK (43500 USD) here in Stockholm just over a year ago.  I was there, but I passed... (after all it has a dent on the finder housing  ^_^  )

Fun thing; I was actually doing service at the Swedish Army Photo School in 1960 when this one was first delivered (I was assigned a beat-up IIIf).  The brand new cameras were handled by the top brass only; we never saw them...
