Iven-t Posted January 16, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey everybody, I´ve just tested the SL with the Atomos Shogun. The Atomos records focus peaking of the cam! Do you have the same problem? Thx

rmarvin Posted January 17, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2016 I don't own a Shogun but have borrowed one once and am a little familiar with it. Did you test by turning off the peaking in the SL and just use the peaking that the Shogun offers? Although I would think that Leica should have a mode to send a clean image out over the HDMI port while still using the on screen displays on the camera, if not now perhaps in a future firmware update? Joekenemore Posted April 11, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 11, 2016 Did you play back your footage on a computer? If you play back your footage on the Shogun you will see peaking of it is on.
grobovnikov Posted April 11, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 11, 2016 Hey! I've tried the Shogun today, but for some reason, when I switch to 4096 x 2160: 24 fps on Leica, the Shogun switches to 1920 x 1080 24 fps. Did you have that problem or am I doing something wrong? Thank you
Joekenemore Posted April 12, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 12, 2016 I am having the same problem with frame rates and different video sizes. I believe it is the HDMI Cable. I have many other cameras that operate at high frame rates and true 4K and I use them with the Shogun and Assassin. I have contemplated buying the $200 Leica HDMI Cable but without credible data I can't justify the cost.
grobovnikov Posted April 12, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 12, 2016 Aren't the HDMIs suppose to be all the same? I'm using the Atomos one, which should support 4k. And it doesn't support the 120fps video as well.
Joekenemore Posted April 12, 2016 Share #7 Posted April 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Standard HDMI technology for UHD is 1.4b. The technology that Leica is using for there cable is 1.4a. I have been searching for someone smarter than me to educate me on this. I am also looking for the audio adapter. Thank you No there isn't anything wrong except the Atoms Shogun doesn't support 4096 X 2016 only UHD 3840 X 2016. UHD is a 16:9 format, whereas 4096 X 2016 is 16:10 format. If you want to shoot in full 4K 16:10, then you will need a different monitor/recorder.

Shogun supports 4096x2160, but maybe via SDI only. Do you know about 120fps? What could be the issue that the Shogun doesn't receive any video when I switch camera to 120fps? What could be the issue that the Shogun doesn't receive any video when I switch camera to 120fps? Here is the link to the spec page at Atomos: https://www.atomos.com/shogun/ Note that it only lists loop out format of 2160P which is 3840 X 2160 or 4K UHD. It does lists 120fps for 1080i, but there is an asterisk, so this is probably limited.
digitalfx Posted April 13, 2016 Share #11 Posted April 13, 2016 Hey everybody, I´ve just tested the SL with the Atomos Shogun. The Atomos records focus peaking of the cam! Do you have the same problem? Thx This wouldn't be an issue with the Shogun, but with the SL. The Shogun can only record what it is given by the camera. If its recording the peaking, then the camera is not sending a clean feed via HDMI and yes, 4096 x 2016 is not an option with the Shogun (has nothing to do with the cable), Shogun only supports UHD via HDMI. I just received the Shogun Flame, but assume it has the same limitations. I can test it tomorrow.
