alan.y Posted January 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I'll be in Tokyo for a while and hoping to pick up an M 240 there. I wonder if anyone could give me a ballpark figure for how much a used copy costs in Tokyo? Either in Yen or USD. Accessories/boxes and cosmetics condition don't matter. Thank you. jmui852 Posted January 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2016 You're better off buying one from HK and have it shipped to you in Tokyo. HK has by far the lowest prices in the world.
lupinIII Posted January 13, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2016 Here you go. A very big dealer in Leica cameras and lenses. These are their current used M 240s: https://search.mapcamera.com/?sell=used&status=stock&janCode=4548182107705
dugby Posted January 14, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2016 In my 5 visits to Tokyo I've found a few 2nd hand Leica dealers, and the above referenced Map Camera shop on the west side of Shinjuku train station is my favourite You can find it here http://tinyurl.com/hr2pegx
Dikaiosune01 Posted January 20, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 20, 2016 The reason why Japan is not a great place to find deals is because Japan's pricing of leica is based on Schmidt as their distributor. Hong Kong must also use Schmidt as their distributor. So their new and used prices reflect the already inflated prices. The reason why Hong Kong have cheaper prices is because they are imported from Europe. I.e. Grey market.
