KLManhattan Posted January 10, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know if this has been discussed, but does any one know why Leica limits the length of an exposure with the lens wide open? It is my understanding that the longest exposure allowed at F1.7 is approximately 4 seconds. Is my understanding accurate?

lucerne Posted January 10, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2016 Ambient light will have to be pretty low to test this, but set your Shutter dial to 1s and turn the exposure Compensation dial ( notice the + symbol adjacent to the number 1s). At certain ISO settings you will see that exposure can be wound up to 30 seconds if the light reaching the sensor is low enough at particular ISOs and the aperture is at 1.7 Added: Leica Q. Long night exposures. Technique
